I'm caring for my father, who's 85. After a diagnosis of dementia Nahom can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Nahom desperately wants to stay at home. I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer. Nahom worked all of his life as a factory worker, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $200 goes: • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $20 • Medication and prescriptions: $75 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $105 Ask me anything below before you decide.
