Every year the Free Community Meal brings together 269 neighbors in Houston. I help organize it with 5 other volunteers, and this year our numbers are down. We need people for stewarding, first-aid support and clean-up. Shifts are two to three hours long and you can pick the one that suits you. Food and drinks are provided for all volunteers. It's a fun day for all ages, and our goal is to keep it free. No experience is necessary - we'll brief everyone at the start of the day. If you can come with a friend, even better. Please say in the comments which shift works for you. Thank you so much.

  • Hang in there, Howard. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I'm in logistics myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you.

    • Praying for you, Howard. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Take care.

      • Sending strength, Howard. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.

        • Hope things get better soon. I hope things turn around soon. Greetings from Bordeaux.

Hang in there, Howard. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Ciudad de México
