Nafula was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in May. The oncology team at Kasarani Cancer Centre has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in July. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks. Nafula is 54, worked as a hairdresser until May, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kasarani Cancer Centre 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
