My tuk-tuk: Marwan's only way to earn a living

Without my tuk-tuk Marwan can't work; a $50 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my tuk-tuk. 7 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $50. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $50 goes: • Towing and inspection: $20 • Labor charges: $20 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $10 Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot. - Marwan

Updates from Marwan

  1. Thank you all. We're at 46% now ($23). I'm honestly stunned. the first invoice got paid this week.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($23 in total) I made the first payment toward road tax and insurance renewal. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  3. Update from Cairo: the plan for towing and inspection is now scheduled. We're at 6% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
