My school-run minibus: Lukman's only way to earn a living

Without my school-run minibus Lukman can't work; a $350 repair would put him back on the road.

I make my living with my school-run minibus. 7 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $350. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update. Where the $350 goes: • rear axle replacement (parts): $240 • Labor charges: $60 • Towing and inspection: $50 With deep gratitude, Lukman

Updates from Lukman

Small update. $278 so far, we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Good news. Because of your gifts ($179 in total) I made the first payment toward towing and inspection. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
We're at 37% thanks to 3 of you. I made the first payment toward labor charges. More news soon.
