My ride-share car: Olivia's only way to earn a living
Olivia drives for a living in Ekurhuleni, and a broken engine head gasket has stopped all income for 8 weeks.

I make my living with my ride-share car. 8 weeks ago the engine head gasket failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $150. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next six months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $150 goes:
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $70
• Towing and inspection: $30
• Labor charges: $50
With deep gratitude,
Olivia
