My pickup: Souad's only way to earn a living
Souad drives for a living in Alexandria, and a broken rear axle has stopped all income for 7 weeks.

I make my living with my pickup. 7 weeks ago the rear axle failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my wife and our newborn. Before the breakdown I worked ten hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $300 goes:
• rear axle replacement (parts): $185
• Labor charges: $70
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $45
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

So sorry you're going through this. Hope the shop reopens soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. All the best.
Take care, Souad. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Zaria this morning. Take care.
