I make my living with my pickup. 12 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $250. Without the vehicle I earn nothing. I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask. I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working. I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here. All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal. Where the $250 goes: • fuel pump replacement (parts): $165 • Labor charges: $50 • Road tax and insurance renewal: $25 • Towing and inspection: $10 If you're reading this, thank you.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lestari

Sure. The biggest one is fuel pump replacement (parts), $165. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Good question.

  • Stay strong. Hope the shop reopens soon.

    • Hope it all works out, Lestari. Hope you get there. All the best

      • Thinking of you and your family, Lestari. I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. Love from Los Angeles.
