My pickup: Christina's only way to earn a living
Christina drives for a living in Nuremberg, and a broken clutch assembly has stopped all income for 12 weeks.
🇩🇪 Bavaria, Germany1,348 views
I make my living with my pickup. 12 weeks ago the clutch assembly failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $1,400. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my family of five. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• clutch assembly replacement (parts): $1,050
• Labor charges: $105
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $200
• Towing and inspection: $45
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

It takes guts to ask. Well done. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Take care.
Hang in there, Christina. Hope the shop reopens soon. My husband and I read this together. All the best.

So sorry you're going through this, Christina. Your post was clear and honest. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Recife.
Sending good thoughts, Christina. Hope you make a strong comeback. After 17 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
