My food truck: Imelda's only way to earn a living
Imelda drives for a living in Pasig, and a broken transmission has stopped all income for 5 weeks.

I make my living with my food truck. 5 weeks ago the transmission failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $300. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked nine hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next three months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $300 goes:
• transmission replacement (parts): $220
• Labor charges: $35
• Towing and inspection: $45
Thank you for reading my story.

Rooting for you. Small businesses are the heart of Pasig. Hope you're open again soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
Rooting for you, Imelda. This could happen to any of us. After 20 years in hospitality I know how hard it is to ask for anything. Take care
Thinking of you and your family. Your post was clear and honest. Love from Girona
