My food truck: Andrés's only way to earn a living
Andrés's my food truck is Andrés's only source of income and needs a fuel pump replacement costing $2,250.
🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States1,242 views
I make my living with my food truck. 3 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $2,250. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my younger brothers and sisters. Before the breakdown I worked twelve hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
I'll pay the mechanic directly and show you the repaired vehicle in an update.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• fuel pump replacement (parts): $1,450
• Labor charges: $390
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $270
• Towing and inspection: $140
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
Updates from Andrés
Update from Oakland: I met with the mechanic and confirmed the amounts. We're at 6% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
Wanted to say thank you properly. 4% funded and I made the first payment toward towing and inspection.
