My delivery van: Mónica's only way to earn a living
Mónica drives for a living in Albany, and a broken fuel pump has stopped all income for 3 weeks.
🇺🇸 Albany, New York, United States1,790 views
I make my living with my delivery van. 3 weeks ago the fuel pump failed, and the mechanic says the repair will cost $2,200. Without the vehicle I earn nothing.
I have been borrowing from friends to pay rent, and now I have run out of people to ask.
I support my two daughters and my mother. Before the breakdown I worked eleven hours a day, six days a week. I have been offered extra shifts for the next four months if I can just get the vehicle working.
I have a written estimate from a certified mechanic and will upload it here.
All money will go toward the parts and labor on the estimate, with a small amount for road tax and insurance renewal.
Where the $2,200 goes:
• fuel pump replacement (parts): $1,650
• Labor charges: $125
• Road tax and insurance renewal: $300
• Towing and inspection: $125
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Best of luck. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'm in accounting myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. Blessings
Rooting for you, Mónica. Small businesses are the heart of Albany. Hope you're open again soon. My neighbor had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from Berlin
I'd happily buy from you once you're back up. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Albany.
