The fire in the market hit the Greenfield district on 1 December. My home was one of 18 damaged, and 6 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $800 goes: • Clean water and purification supplies: $80 • Tools and labor for repairs: $185 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $70 • Roofing sheets and timber: $465 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

                • Hope things get better soon, Ssebuliba. Hope you get there. After 23 years in farming I know how hard it's to ask for anything.

                    • Praying for you, Ssebuliba. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I went through something like this 6 years ago and strangers helped me out. Thinking of Mwanza
