Mwanaisha can't leave home - help build a ramp

Help Mwanaisha regain independence: a simple ramp build.

Mwanaisha has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Mwanaisha can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the accessibility guideline for gradient, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Mwanaisha's family will cook lunch for the team. I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

  • Best of luck, Simiyu. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Lyon so I could bring a meal. Blessings.

    • sending good thoughts, Simiyu. Shared this with my family.

      • sending strength, Simiyu. Hope the doctors have good news. After 16 years in logistics I know how hard it is to ask for anything. God bless.

        • Hope things get better soon, Simiyu. Hope the doctors have good news. After 24 years in retail I know how hard it's to ask for anything
