Dar es Salaam
Mutua was diagnosed with cervical cancer in January. The oncology team at Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 3 weeks. Mutua is 29, worked as a farmer until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Dar es Salaam Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $400 goes: • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $50 • Scans and lab work: $170 • Household costs while unable to work: $180 I hope life is good to you.
