Monika was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Hannover University Hospital recommended laparoscopic cyst removal, and She is scheduled for October. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $6,750, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $5,300 short.
my mother has been in and out of Hannover University Hospital since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without laparoscopic cyst removal. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $6,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Monika struggles with daily life and can't climb stairs. Her family has taken turns caring for her, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
Recovery is expected to take about 7 weeks. During that time Monika won't be able to climb stairs, so the costs keep growing.
