I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at the Bakersfield Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,400. My current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $2,400 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $165 • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $1,900 • First-year servicing plan: $335 Every share and every dollar helps.
