A stair-climbing aid would give Sandesh independence - we're $1,000 away.

Sandesh lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Mumbai Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000. His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 7 weeks. With the right equipment Sandesh could speak with the people around him. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $1,000 goes: • stair-climbing aid: $870 • Fitting and training sessions: $45 • Delivery and set-up: $20 • First-year servicing plan: $65 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people. - Janhavi

gave what I could, wish it was more. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Belo Horizonte!
