Mobility fund: stair-climbing aid for Lourdes in Coyoacán
Lourdes needs a stair-climbing aid that the health system won't fund; the cost is $2,600.

Lourdes lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Coyoacán Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,600.
Her current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment Lourdes could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• stair-climbing aid: $2,500
• First-year servicing plan: $80
• Delivery and set-up: $20
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Hang in there, Araceli. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money.
I hope things turn around soon. Put this on a community board in Winston-Salem this morning. Thinking of Coyoacán
wishing you peace, Araceli. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I hope July is when things finally get easier.
Sending good thoughts, Araceli. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry.
Wishing you the best, Araceli. Shared this with my family. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust. God bless.
