Mobility fund: stair-climbing aid for Dylan in Liverpool

A stair-climbing aid would give Dylan independence - we're $6,400 away.

Liverpool
Dylan lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Liverpool Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a stair-climbing aid. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $6,400. His current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment Dylan could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $6,400 goes: • First-year servicing plan: $290 • stair-climbing aid: $6,000 • Delivery and set-up: $110 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Updates from Kendall

  1. Thank you all. We're at 19% now ($1,231). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward delivery and set-up.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($263 in total) I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
