Mobility fund: specialist standing frame for Mavis in Tema
A specialist standing frame would give Mavis independence - we are $400 away.
🇬🇭 Tema, Greater Accra, Ghana627 views
I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Tema Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $400 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $10
• Fitting and training sessions: $65
• specialist standing frame: $325
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
