Mobility fund: specialist standing frame for Mary in Embakasi
Mary needs a specialist standing frame that the health system won't fund; the cost is $1,000.

I live with muscular dystrophy. My occupational therapist at the Embakasi Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,000.
My current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,000 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $870
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $50
Glad we found this place.

Stay strong. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. After 15 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Love from Bacolod.
Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Greetings from Setagaya.
Hope things get better soon, Mary. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. Greetings from Salé.
Wishing you peace, Mary. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. God bless.
Best of luck, Mary. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I went through something like this 3 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
