I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Niterói Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,250. My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks. With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
