Mobility fund: specialist standing frame for Lerato in Johannesburg
Lerato needs a specialist standing frame that the health system won't fund; the cost is $1,650.

Lerato lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at the Johannesburg Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a specialist standing frame. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,650.
Her current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment Lerato could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $1,650 goes:
• specialist standing frame: $1,500
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• Delivery and set-up: $45
• First-year servicing plan: $65
