Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Uche in Gwagwalada
A prosthetic leg would give Uche independence - we're $1,250 away.
🇳🇬 Nigeria1,825 views
I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at Gwagwalada General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,250.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,250 goes:
• First-year servicing plan: $30
• Fitting and training sessions: $35
• prosthetic leg: $1,185
Thank you so much.

Sending strength. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
Hope things get better soon. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. The breakdown of costs made it easy to trust.
Stay strong. Looking forward to the next update. I hope December is when things finally get easier. God bless.
Stay strong, Uche. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. God bless.
Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from Abbottabad
