Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Tayyaba in Quetta
Tayyaba needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $750.

I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Quetta Mobility Clinic has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $750 goes:
• prosthetic leg: $700
• Fitting and training sessions: $20
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $10
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Thanks for sharing this, Tayyaba. Hope the doctors have good news. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Greetings from Lansing.
Hang in there, Tayyaba. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
You're not alone, Tayyaba. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I hope August is when things finally get easier. God bless.
So sorry you're going through this, Tayyaba. I hope things turn around soon. After 25 years in public service I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
Wishing you the best. Looking forward to the next update. Wish I lived closer to Nashik so I could bring a meal!
take care, Tayyaba. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. All the best.
