Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Nonso in Onitsha
Nonso needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $550.
🇳🇬 Onitsha, Anambra, Nigeria1,207 views
Nonso lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at Onitsha General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $550.
His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Nonso could go to school independently. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $550 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $50
• First-year servicing plan: $45
• prosthetic leg: $455
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

I hope things turn around soon. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Los Angeles.
