Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Maricel in Cebu City

A prosthetic leg would give Maricel independence - we're $700 away.

Cebu City
Maricel lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Cebu City Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $700. Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Maricel could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $700 goes: • prosthetic leg: $600 • Fitting and training sessions: $55 • Delivery and set-up: $20 • First-year servicing plan: $25 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Hope things get better soon, Isabel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Love from Dwarka.

    • It takes guts to ask. Well done. Wish I lived closer to Nagpur so I could bring a meal. Blessings.
