I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at Campinas General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,350. My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $2,350 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $35 • First-year servicing plan: $120 • prosthetic leg: $2,195 Every share and every dollar helps. - Marcelo
