Hiwot needs a prosthetic leg that the health system won't fund; the cost is $450.

Hiwot lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at Addis Ababa General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $450.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 3 weeks.
With the right equipment Hiwot could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
