Mobility fund: prosthetic leg for Concetta in Palermo
Help Concetta get a prosthetic leg so She can go to school independently.
Anywhere in the world923 views
I live with a spinal cord injury. My occupational therapist at Palermo General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a prosthetic leg. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,150.
My current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go to school independently. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $5,150 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $260
• prosthetic leg: $4,750
• First-year servicing plan: $140
With deep gratitude,
Concetta
