Mobility fund: powered wheelchair for Wekesa in Nairobi
Help Wekesa get a powered wheelchair so He can go outside without waiting for someone to push.
🇰🇪 Nairobi, Nairobi, Kenya947 views
I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Nairobi Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $650.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $650 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $530
• Fitting and training sessions: $45
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $50
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.

Sending love, Wekesa. This could happen to any of us. It's not much but it's yours. Thinking of Nairobi.
