Mobility fund: powered wheelchair for Jumoke in Lagos
Jumoke needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $100.
🇳🇬 Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria260 views
Jumoke lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Lagos Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $100.
Her current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Jumoke could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $100 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $15
• First-year servicing plan: $55
• Delivery and set-up: $30
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
