Mobility fund: powered wheelchair for Josefa in Seville
Josefa needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $450.
🇪🇸 Seville, Andalusia, Spain873 views
Josefa lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at Seville General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $450.
Her current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment Josefa could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $450 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $85
• First-year servicing plan: $240
• Delivery and set-up: $125

I hope things turn around soon. After 24 years in engineering I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Karachi!
Gave what I could, wish it was more. After 9 years in nursing I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Take care.
