Mobility fund: powered wheelchair for Isaiah in Yonkers
Isaiah needs a powered wheelchair that the health system won't fund; the cost is $4,750.

I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at the Yonkers Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a powered wheelchair. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $4,750.
My current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment I could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $4,750 goes:
• powered wheelchair: $4,350
• Delivery and set-up: $135
• First-year servicing plan: $265
Glad we found this place.

You're not alone, Isaiah. Hope the doctors have good news. After 20 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Greetings from Kingston.
