I live with low vision from retinitis pigmentosa. My occupational therapist at the Magelang Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,350. My current equipment is 13 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 6 weeks. With the right equipment I could speak with the people around her. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,350 goes: • pair of hearing aids: $1,250 • Fitting and training sessions: $50 • Delivery and set-up: $25 • First-year servicing plan: $25 Thanks for reading all this.
