Mobility fund: pair of hearing aids for Florence in Kampala
Florence needs a pair of hearing aids that the health system won't fund; the cost is $700.
🇺🇬 Kampala, Central Region, Uganda724 views
Florence lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at Kampala General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a pair of hearing aids. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $700.
Her current equipment is 15 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Florence could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $700 goes:
• pair of hearing aids: $560
• Fitting and training sessions: $55
• Delivery and set-up: $30
• First-year servicing plan: $55
