Todd lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at Manukau General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a communication tablet with eye tracking. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $500.
His current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 4 weeks.
With the right equipment Todd could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $500 goes:
• Delivery and set-up: $130
• First-year servicing plan: $200
• Fitting and training sessions: $170
