Colombo
Pradeep lives with an amputation below the knee. The occupational therapist at the Colombo Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $150. His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment Pradeep could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $150 goes: • Delivery and set-up: $35 • First-year servicing plan: $70 • Fitting and training sessions: $45 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Chamara

Updates from Chamara

  1. We're at 95% thanks to 5 of you. I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts. More news soon.

  2. Good news. Because of your gifts ($102 in total) I made the first payment toward fitting and training sessions. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
