I live with multiple sclerosis. My occupational therapist at Howrah General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,050.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could speak with the people around him. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $940
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• Delivery and set-up: $20
• First-year servicing plan: $50

good luck. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My sister had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
