Zaria
Kelechi lives with a rare neuromuscular condition. The occupational therapist at the Zaria Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,150. His current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment Kelechi could join the school sports day. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $1,150 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $1,050 • Fitting and training sessions: $30 • Delivery and set-up: $20 • First-year servicing plan: $50 I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.
