Jakarta Barat
Heru lives with cerebral palsy. The occupational therapist at Jakarta Barat General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750. His current equipment is 12 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 8 weeks. With the right equipment Heru could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $750 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $650 • Fitting and training sessions: $45 • Delivery and set-up: $15 • First-year servicing plan: $40 Thank you for reading my story.
