Mobility fund: cochlear implant processor upgrade for Donna in Leeds
A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Donna independence - we're $500 away.
🇬🇧 Leeds, England, United Kingdom938 views
I live with profound hearing loss. My occupational therapist at Leeds General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $500.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $500 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $165
• First-year servicing plan: $240
• Delivery and set-up: $95
