Mobility fund: cochlear implant processor upgrade for Chitra in Dwarka
A cochlear implant processor upgrade would give Chitra independence - we're $750 away.
🇮🇳 India660 views
Chitra lives with muscular dystrophy. The occupational therapist at the Dwarka Mobility Clinic has assessed her and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $750.
Her current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 5 weeks.
With the right equipment Chitra could go outside without waiting for someone to push. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $750 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $680
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• Delivery and set-up: $25
• First-year servicing plan: $5
Thanks for being kind about this.

You're not alone, Geetha. Shared it with a few friends
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Chitra
Sure. The biggest one is cochlear implant processor upgrade, $680. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.
You're not alone. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Wish I lived closer to Aurangabad so I could bring a meal. Love from Taguig.
Wishing you the best, Geetha. Get well soon. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. God bless.
