Mobility fund: cochlear implant processor upgrade for Brian in Sacramento
Brian needs a cochlear implant processor upgrade that the health system won't fund; the cost is $5,450.

Brian lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Sacramento Rehabilitation Centre has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,450.
His current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 12 weeks.
With the right equipment Brian could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered.
Where the $5,450 goes:
• cochlear implant processor upgrade: $4,750
• Fitting and training sessions: $210
• Delivery and set-up: $220
• First-year servicing plan: $270
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
