I live with an amputation below the knee. My occupational therapist at San Francisco General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $2,800. My current equipment is 14 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 5 weeks. With the right equipment I could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing. Where the $2,800 goes: • Fitting and training sessions: $260 • braille note-taker: $2,400 • Delivery and set-up: $140 With deep gratitude, Sophie
