Mobility fund: braille note-taker for Salim in Kasarani
Help Salim get a braille note-taker so He can join the school sports day.
🇰🇪 Nairobi, Kenya234 views
I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at Kasarani General Hospital has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $400.
My current equipment is 9 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 7 weeks.
With the right equipment I could join the school sports day. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $400 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $55
• braille note-taker: $290
• First-year servicing plan: $55
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
