I live with cerebral palsy. My occupational therapist at the Dwarka Rehabilitation Centre has assessed me and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $1,450.
My current equipment is 10 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined me to home for 8 weeks.
With the right equipment I could attend work interviews. It would change my everyday life and my ability to work from home.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Fitting and training sessions: $40
• Delivery and set-up: $10
• braille note-taker: $1,400
