Mobility fund: braille note-taker for Brian in Fresno
Brian needs a braille note-taker that the health system won't fund; the cost is $8,800.

Brian lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at Fresno General Hospital has assessed him and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $8,800.
His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 10 weeks.
With the right equipment Brian could get to the shops and visit friends. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.

• Fitting and training sessions: $270
• Delivery and set-up: $220
• First-year servicing plan: $310

What's already covered and what's the $8,800 for?
Sure. The biggest one is braille note-taker, $8,000. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
