Mobility fund: braille note-taker for Awa in Paris
A braille note-taker would give Awa independence - we're $5,950 away.

Awa lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at Paris General Hospital has assessed her and recommended a braille note-taker. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $5,950.
Her current equipment is 8 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined her to home for 6 weeks.
With the right equipment Awa could speak with the people around her. It would change everyday life for the whole family.
We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest.
Funds go toward the equipment, delivery, fitting and a year of servicing.
Where the $5,950 goes:
• braille note-taker: $5,500
• Fitting and training sessions: $150
• Delivery and set-up: $150
• First-year servicing plan: $150
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Awa.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. braille note-taker comes first ($5,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for looking so closely.
Hope things get better soon, Mariam. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. My husband and I read this together. Greetings from Orlando.
